Dancer’s Diary – Week 12

Dancer’s Diary – Week 12

Good evening,

I must apologise for my lack of updates last week, but I was far too upset to write one. You see, Alice and Ben were off to get married on Saturday, and only told mimagee on Monday that I wouldn’t be going to West Sussex with them – can you believe it! It’s hardly a party without me, so I naturally went on strike. However, they came back yesterday and I found out they had named a table in my honour – not the same as being there, but they did find rather a dashing picture to put on it so I have just about agreed to put hoof to paper this week.

By all accounts, the wedding was fairly phenomenal – both have returned looking really quite ill which means it must have been fun! They’ve shown me some pictures and I failed to recognise either of them – under that layer of dirt, they actually scrub up ok! By all accounts the food was delicious, the music spot on and the very tasty Bloom gin (luckily they bought some back – you must try it!) flowing, which sounds a good recipe for how to speimagend the rest of there life together! Anyway, Ben and I have agreed a right treat for Alice’s honeymoon – she’ll get to ride me every day this week! What more could a newly wed want!?

I was a bit cross with Charlie (Camanche Grey), as he looked to have a real chance of giving them a nice wedding present on Thursday at Wolverhampton. Charlie, however, never reads the script and missed the break, after which he decided to enjoy himself around the back. Frustrating at best on the all-weather, he will be returning to the turf ASAP, a surface he knows how to win on. He will be getting a few Hi Dancer chats before then though, and may get a chance to redeem himself next Monday at Redcar over five furlongs.image

Whisky (Whisky Marmalade) gave everyone an exciting few moments when she hit the front on the same afternoon, but she got there a bit too soon, and is now taking a lot of stick from the other fillies for getting a bit distracted. Still, her excitable jockey Raul was pleased with her, and has promised us she will be winning again in the near future. This may prove to be sooner rather then later with any luck, as she may head back to Wolves on Saturday – I’ll get her doing a bit of concentration yoga before then!

I am afraid I’m going to keep this rather short and sweet this week – we’ve had a bit of bubbly to celebrate the occasion, which might explain how Percy ended up with a banana on his head…

Until next time,
